In the LG of Monday, 14th November 1977, Third Supplement.  CENTRAL CHANCERY OF THE ORDERS OF KNIGHTHOOD.  St James's Palace, London, S.W.1.  15th November 1977.  The Queen has been graciously pleased to award the Imperial Service Medal to the following officers on their retirement.

Harry Packwood and Miss Patricia Dorothy Pearl Perry.  They had both retired from the Ministry of Defence, Harry was a Motor Transport Driver and Patricia was a Store-woman.

The truly amazing fact about these two are they are not related, they retired on or about the same day and out of all of the tens of thousands of awards of the ISM, they are both on the same page of the Gazette!  It is a weekly magazine and I must thank my colleague Jeff Taylor of the BMS for the hard work he did going through the Gazettes from the accession of QE2 in 1952 to the date in question, going through the indexes, and there are a lot of them, to locate them for me.
